Something I'd like to point out, even as a newcomer to the hobby, that this revision of 5th edition, the making of D&D, even the DM guide all of this is happening on the 50th Anniversary of one of the most important games to ever exist.

The anger and collective ire is justified, he'll, at one point I wanted to make a campaign setting for use in 5e. Since the OGL scandal that has since changed and am now making it for C&C.

My reasoning: "If WotC isn't respecting the creators or those players and DMs that came before me, for what reason should I, as a newcomer feel that same respect being extended to me and others like me."

It's been a tough job, but I managed to get my group on board with C&C, after demonstrating just how bloated 5e truly is. It also treats you like you're dumb and rather future creativity, it feels like you have to adhere to strict guidelines of play. Now, as someone who knows better, I know this is wrong.

I still have my 5e books, yes, but haven't bought anything from WotC or any 3rd party supplements, because what would be the point. At least I have more than enough material to convert and break down for other games, as it's something I enjoy doing.

I don't know too much about Bob World Builder, but I've seen him around, I was never too sure about him, much in the same way with Ginny D or other "influencers". As a general rule, I just leave them alone and say nothing.

I'll never understand why people feel the need to slander/label others well after they've left the mortal coil and feel like it's wrong to do so. What WotC and those within that circle have said and done is horrible and deserves to be called out.

Well said. I agree 100% that Hasbro/Wizards is making money off destroying the IP and maligning its creators. But part of the ongoing problem in the hobby is there are a lot people making money off RPG discussion videos. There's been so many hot takes of every description and any new controversy (or existing controversy) is an excuse to throw up a video. Not only do some people feel a need to stir the pot for clicks and subscribers, but we get very filtered views of products, whether it's pro WotC, anti WotC or talking up the latest new thing just because everyone else is talking about the latest new thing and they want to catch the wave.

I think this guy backpedals in his responses to you, so you're right to ask, "Then why make the video?" Personally, I'm starting to ignore these videos in favor of what I actually go on these platforms to see and hear, which is what people are playing and making, how and why.

It would be better for people to bring attention to products like the ones you mentioned, or Rob Kuntz's new module for example. The best revenge is success, so we need videos asking, "Why play that gArBaGe when you can play THIS?" We need to stop promoting Wizards by letting them stay topical. Let them vanish from our thoughts like the bad dream they are. And if someone asks if you're playing the "NEW D&D," reply, "Fuck no! I'm playing good games. That crap isn't D&D." We don't need to pay someone's rent with clicks to debate what we already know. When their viewership drops, these folks will start to get it and be forced to come up with actual insightful content instead of helping to maintain a constant soap opera. I know Wizards sucks. I don't need a daily telenovella to tell me this.
