Very wise words. I'm not far behind you in age, I'm 36 and grew up in an entirely Catholic Cajun community and didn't catch any grief for D&D because I played with my dad. I particularly like how you put it that you should not try to please those who only want to make you miserable.

Anyhow I have a Druid character and I'm open to playing anytime.

Any particular edition you play?

I know its been said before but: Pundit seems like the type of guy looking for fights for no real reason other than boosting his ego, touting himself as a "superior nerd, above reproach". To me the guy is someone who I would avoid because ain't nobody got time for that kind of drama.

He also reminds me of this guy from a Den of the Drake video, who targets a single dude for "not being nerdy enough" and has caused the death of more campaigns than he's ran. Granted I know that's not the case with Pundit's imagined beef with TBE. I was apart of TBE's Guilded server for a time until Guilded decided to break on me, he always seemed a decent fellow and I've never had a problem with him.

Not sure what Pundit's deal is other than seeking validation through needless, ceaseless drama.

Guy has MAJOR Small Man Syndrome if you get my drift.

As I see it, Pundit's problem is that there are people like TBE seeing success. Rather than taking a "Rising Tide Raise All Ships" approach, he just wants to be emperor (small man syndrome point taken, of course) and will stop at nothing.

There's another saying that "When they tell you who they are, believe them." and with Pundit, his self-proclaimed title of "The Final Boss of Internet Shitlords" has been stripped from him three times. Once by me telling him to BTFO and the second and third by Paddy of Paddy's Parlor Games when he's called him out. This is what he does. He won't write a game with his own set of rules that work well, so anyone who does, he targets in the hope that he'll be the Connor MacLeod of the OSR which won't work.

He's accused me of destroying the OSR with my refusal to do business with Drive-Thru RPG while also accusing me of being an ineffectual nothing of no consequence in the same breath.

TBE and others are gaining traction and rather than celebrating them and encouraging them and encouraging his own fanbase to move to that support, he's exposed himself to be nothing more than a hysterical SJW because now he has entered into the paranoid delusion that "muh white supremacists" are just around every corner and note the timing of it, right around the time this Gaza Shitstick got kicked up, no less.

His entire take on the Cha'alt X-Cards showed he failed to understand or read thoroughly, a ten-page PDF.

I read it twice on my break and immediately saw the humor in it. I'll even admit with the title, I had preconceived notions that Venger was able to put to rest pretty handily and I ordered a set of custom cards based on the strength of the PDF. Pundit failed to see the humor in them (no surprise) but claims that having the exact humorous approach that Venger put in is "how we win."

It's a lotta drama and, after Pundit blocked me, I was happy to put it to bed, never recommend his games anymore and just leave him be but now he's going after friends like that and bringing this entire thing full-circle, if I won't allow my catechism teachers to lie as they've done, I really won't allow him to do the same either.

"Final Boss of Internet Shitlords?" Dude wouldn't be fit to even be cannon fodder with how he acts and I have seen a bit.

I'd better be careful while writing my own game then.

I'm excited for Macuahuitl and hope to see more from TBE, even got Atomic Punk and Cowpunchers.

I've seen Venger explain the Cha'alt X-Cards on Diversity & Dragon's latest stream and a bit in his own video, the concept sounds like a barrel of laughs and just a good time all around. A shame Pundit can't just take things for what they are.

I don't blame you for wanting to cut him off for going after your friends, just be careful not to sink to his level, because its pretty low.

We have each other mutually blocked on Twitter from back in April. For me that was a colossal badge of honor.

Honestly, to stoop to his level, I'd have to first go after him and continuously harass him but I won't even give him traffic, nor will I give him the engagement.

Calling him out? That's easy without having to stoop to those kinds of actions.

As for your game, my recommendation is this. Don't send it to him. If he wants to review it, let him purchase a copy himself and make it a paid review. He'll probably shit all over it but he will have paid you for the privilege.

With WoTC, DTRPG, Pundit, Dennis Detwiller, and Leyline Press, I have this philosophy of "They can hate me all they want. I really don't mind. That being said, they can do it for free."

Pundit's always been on the spicy side, but it really seems like he's ratcheted that up in a huge way over the last handful of years. I can't even recall when I last tried to watch anything of his simply because I got tired of everything devolving into low effort complaints about the same old things over and over, with no real effort put in to pointing out better options.

You might recall I've mentioned I used to speak with Grim Jim from time to time. If memory serves this was a few months before he left the Inappropriate Characters stream that he worked on with Pundit and Venger. If you're familiar with Grim, you know he's a pretty reasonable guy who's more than willing to politely listen to arguments and beliefs he vehemently disagrees with and approach them in a civil manner. Pundit's inability to do this, specifically regarding COVID in this case, is what drove Grim away. That says plenty on its own - he drove away someone who disagreed with him vehemently, but was willing to listen and discuss his views despite that on a weekly basis for over a year. Seems like that behavior has only worsened since then.

Grim Jim has had his moments as well. One such instance that I can recall was the reversal of Roe v. Wade awhile back and he launched into hysterical takes and conspiracy theories around it and he would not hear otherwise. Meanwhile his own country has far more strict abortion laws than even some of the most conservative states. Then he had some other ones around guns.

Keep in mind, I don't hold those against him personally but he did unfollow me once over the Roe V. Wade discussion. He's since followed me again. Personally, I'm not in the for or against groups, I am of the mind that three things need to happen. First, decommercialize health care, that will help bring costs down. Second, get government out of healthcare as they've done nothing but make things worse and Third, all procedures, therapy, treatments, etc. need to be between doctor and patient, no further. That's a private matter and whether I'm morally on board or not means fuck all. I think we need to make a decision here. If you want government in your health care, then you accept that they can tell you which procedures and medications you can and cannot have. If you don't want that then you accept that people can elect to get a shot or not without consequences. No more double standards.

Grim isn't the only one that Pundit has driven out with his actions. Jobe Bittman was another one and also Diversity & Dragons was going to initially replace him but backed out.

Fact is, Pundit has made it his life's mission to just "own the enemy" and now the enemy is ever-evolving and shifting. Anyone, anywhere, for any reason can become his enemy based on so much as a disagreement or an unwillingness to put up with his continued bullshit. Essentially, he's become the very thing he claims to be against...if he was ever truly against it.

Methinks the lady doth protest too much.
