Just a note, but the Audible version is specifically the German language version. They don't have the book in English, or apparently any other languages from what I can see. That said, if the Hoopla Digital option doesn't pan out, there are three different free versions of the English audiobook that I found available on YouTube as well.
I double checked today just to be sure. Friend of mine recommended reading the book to me last year but they didn't have an English version then, so thought that might've changed. Sadly seems like it hasn't, but yeah there's multiple free versions on YT at least so I've started one of them.
Well I was just telling the friend who suggested it to me earlier today, I'm one chapter in on listening so far and even though we've yet to get to Fantastica, there's that certain something about the writing that lets me know it's something special. I don't know that this'll end up being a favorite, but I recognize the hallmarks of potential greatness in it. I'm confident I'm going to devour my way through this book.
The movie was my first exposure to the concept of high fantasy but I didn't know what it was. I was more into Sword & Sorcery myself as a fantasy sub-genre but this movie, I could relate to all the wishing, not wanting to be where I was in school, wanting to escape, etc.

Really? Aw damn! I know the one on Hoopla is straight up English.

Hey, read it or listen to it any way you can. Lemme know what you think.

Oh it's definitely not run-of-the-mill at all. You're gonna love it.
